Hypnosis Works to Quit Smoking

Why & How Hypnosis Works! continued…

IMG_6Smoking, just like any other habit, is a function of the subconscious mind; and it is our subconscious mind that is responsible for nearly 80 – 85% of how we move through our daily lives. Driving a vehicle is an example of a function of our subconscious mind … the conscious mind is not particularly engaged.

From the moment of putting the keys in our hand; to walking to the car; putting the key in the ignition; putting the car in drive/reverse/using the directional/beginning to brake, etc. are all done pretty much “automatically” or with very little thought.

It is the subconscious mind that is the storehouse so to speak of all of our habits, triggers, urges, automatic behaviors and cravings; and when an individual uses only the conscious mind (the 15% responsible for rational thought) and does nothing to change the habit in the subconscious (the 85%); it is extremely difficult to become successful at change.

That is why when you consciously tell yourself you are not going to have a cigarette, when the telephone rings, or you fasten your seatbelt—you automatically reach for that cigarette because you have done nothing to change the behavior in the subconscious mind.

With hypnosis you change or eliminate that habit, urge, craving within the subconscious mind…usually for the rest of your life. Hypnosis re-educates the subconscious mind with the new, healthy behavior of not smoking and eliminates the unhealthy and destructive habits, urges, cravings and triggers of ever wanting another cigarette. You actually think, act and feel like a non smoker..as if you have never smoked!

Just as any other method to quit smoking, there may be “side effects.” But with hypnosis, the only “side effects” you may experience are all very positive and healthy. You may find that you become a more calm and relaxed person; you are less stressed; become healthier; fall asleep quickly and easily and enjoy a deep restful sleep; have more energy; you enjoy a feeling of being in charge and in control of all aspects of your life.
